Revocable Trust
A Key Estate Planning Tool
Estate planning is not just for the very well to do. If you have a sizable estate the government wants half of
it when you pass away. There are many death tax savings strategies that can save substantial dollars with properly
planned wills and trusts.
More important than taxes though is planning for your spouse and children. It doesn't matter how much you have,
you need to decide on how you want it to pass to your family in a way that will minimize any family conflict and
give your children the best chance for success.
A revocable trust is a great tool that avoids the probate court, speeds up how quickly your children or spouse
will receive their inheritance, helps avoid conflicts and eliminates the costs of probate.
A revocable trust also provides for lifetime management of your assets should you become disabled, without the
need for a guardianship. There are also other lifetime considerations like living wills, health care directives,
and irrevocable trusts that can really help your family.
I am an attorney in Colorado helping clients with estate planning issues. If you want to take care of your
family, please contact me and I'll get you started on putting your plan together.
